When dealing with HIV or HIV-positive people in the workplace, questions or uncertainties often arise.

• How is HIV transmitted?
• Can I become infected?
• How do I deal with HIV-positive colleagues?
• How does confidentiality work in such cases?

In the worst (but unfortunately not uncommon) case, those affected become victims of stigmatisation and exclusion.

In turn, HIV-positive employees and colleagues have doubts about whether they should disclose their status, and they can feel uncertain about issues, such as protection against dismissal, continued payment of sick leave, a severely disabled person's card, and pension entitlements. The AHF can support affected individuals with counselling services, as well as through information, education and training events in companies and enterprises, projects and organisations.
